Welcome to the Ayr United Archive Site

The main aim of this site aims to explore the history of Ayr United Football Club.  From Ayr Thistle to Ayr United trace the clubs history through many mergers to the present day.

Explore the history of Somerset Park, home of the Honest Men from those early days, throughout some changes over the years to its present day.

It is also the focus for bringing together all the Ayr United memorabilia that has been created over the years and you can discover the extent and variance of such memorabilia.

Learn about the managers of Ayr United from the first ever manager in Herbert Dainty in 1914 through to the current manager all of whom have struggled to keep Ayr United at the highest level possible in the Scottish League.

Through the football programmes issued retrace the many divisional league wins, local cups wins, tour matches, near misses and eventually to their first ever National cup final.

For the collectors of Ayr United programmes this site will strive to maintain a comprehensive list of programmes, home and away, that have been issued that will help you in you're quest for those ellusive, more expensive collectors items.

There are a few of them such as those of the 1940s, the postponed premier league match against Rangers in the 1970s and more recently that last match against (the old) Airdrieonians as they played their last match at Somerset Park in 2001.

I have many home and away Ayr United programmes for sale and I will ultimately (probably not until the close season 2017) list the many hundreds that I have on this site.  However, if there any in particular that you need in the meantime, please let me know and I can see if I have it available at
